The sacred ingredients included holy soil from 4 Buddhist sacred sites, cement made of seashell and stone , Jed Din Pacha (soil from 7 cemeteries), Rice from 7 paddy fields, minerals from 7 mines, powder made from one-eyed coconuts, Molass, Honey, Bananas, Salt, Butter, Kesorn 108, Wan 108, Silver, gold, and pink gold, Ittije powder, sandalwood oil, and water from 4 holy wells.
Arjarn Khun Pan and Pol.Col.Sanpetch Thammathikul perform rituals to bring the soul of Orng Phor Jatukam Ramathep , asked for permission, and when permission was granted, the sacred Powder was chanted on the deep sea, Khun Phanom mountain and chanted on the center ofa paddy field, making it complete of water, earth and air. Great Geji monks of Khao Orr lineage was also invited to chant.
For a very long time, Phra Buddha Sihing served as Nakhon Si Thammarat’s sacred representation. Since the “Sihing Tales” made mention of Nakhon Si Thammarat, the locals think that the figure is the Phra Buddha Sihing that was depicted in those stories. According to the legend, when King Ramkhamhaeng the Great learned about the miraculous qualities of Phra Buddha Sihing, he requested the Phraya Nakhon Si Thammarat send an emissary with the royal message to Sri Lanka in order to request from the Lankan King to give the Siamese King possession of Phra Buddha Sihing. The Lankan King was happy to comply with the Siamese King’s request. Therefore, Phra Buddha Sihing was introduced to Siam at Nakhon Si Thammarat, a port city that maintained close relations with Lanka. According to legend, King Ramkhamhaeng came down to Nakhon Si Thammarat to receive Phra Buddha Sihing himself.
Among the inhabitants of the South, especially those who live in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phra Buddha Sihing is held in the highest regard and is the object of unsurpassed worship. According to folklore, evildoers would never dare to swear in front of the image due to their fear of its terrifying fury. As all parties to disputes are frequently asked to swear on the name of Phra Buddha Sihing, very few dare to give false information, the data on lawsuits appear to have dramatically decreased after Phra Buddha Sihing was established in the Provincial Hall.
